more Spring goods ~

What a day at the antique mall!  Keely and I met at 10am to start working on giving Motley Junket a makeover.  From the moment we started unloading stuff from our cars, we were dropping things, spilling things and falling over!  Not to mention ripping shirts, spilling water and tripping!  You name it!  We were just a hot mess!  At any rate, we got everything done and then treated ourselves to Chipotle.......a much needed treat after a hard few hours of work!

The wire dump bins got a utilitarian makeover with boxes, bins, suitcases and pots.....

This black coffee table was added today along with an assortment of bunnies, spring items and colorful dishes....

Georgie Emerson Vintage ~

Hello!  It is with much excitement and anticipation (and maybe a little bit of trepidation mixed in there too) that I bring you this post.  But, it is time to announce the name of "my other booth"!

Since I rented my second booth space back in July of 2011, I have felt like it didn't have an identity.  Keely and I don't share this second space, so I didn't feel right referring to it as part of the Motley Junket endeavor and adventure.  I've been chewing on names and doing some due diligence before making the final decision.

In January of this year, I embarked on a roller coaster process of possibly opening a store front.  We found a wonderful little space that just made me happy every time I stepped foot inside.  I drove past every other day just dreaming and envisioning what I would do with it.

But, when it boiled down to making a decision, I opted against it........for now anyway.
(You can read more about why I made my decision at my new blog.)

I've actually been disappointed since making that decision.  But I keep reminding myself that the dream is still alive!  Maybe someday it will happen, and until then, I will "keep dreaming".

With the advent of this new name, I will at least have one part of the store opening process complete if and when the time comes.

Introducing......

Booth C004 at Heritage Square Antique Mall, "my other booth", now has a name and an identity!  The task of beginning to build the brand as best I can is up next.

A new blog under this name has been created and I would love it if you would come by and say hello when you have a free minute!  Here I will be journaling my booth adventures as well as my efforts in creating my very own vintage handmade home with my husband and pup-pup by my side.

The Motley Junket booth and blog will remain intact, so please stick around!  This is where Keely and I will keep you posted on what vintage adventures we get ourselves into, and of course to keep you updated on what's new in our booth, B002 at Heritage Square Antique Mall.

Hope to see you at Georgie Emerson Vintage!

the shelves ~

My husband worked so hard yesterday hanging these shelves.  It was so sweet of him!  And I was ecstatic with how they turned out.  Right away, I started shopping the house and made a quick trip to Meijer and got busy with the accessorizing.

The IKEA LACK series floating shelves were not difficult to hang, however, it did require some time.  Lots of leveling and measuring and TONS of screws.  The packaging clearly states that they do not hold more than 18 lbs per shelf, so I had to be careful with what I chose to put on them.

This is our laundry room / mud room.  We enter this room from our garage a million times a day.  Many of our guests do too, so I wanted it to be functional of course, but also stylish.

When we went to IKEA in December, we bought some furniture and got a $100 credit from an in-store promotion, so the shelves ended up being free!  Yippee!  My goal was to increase the height on this side of the skinny space and also create the illusion of an elongated wall.  I think these shelves worked.

I decided to pull the antique factory shoe cart from my booth because it hadn't sold.  Turns out, it makes the perfect shoe rack for Mickey's shoes!

There is my new-to-me french wine box that I got at auction last week....told ya it was a keeper!

I found this handpainted sign in Medina back in October.  It finally has a home!

I've decided on little bursts of yellow here and there.  I am reusing an old cabinet on the other side of the room that was already there and the inside is painted yellow, so I took that as my cue.  A few pops of turquoise might show up too.  We chose the black shelves because the main inspiration for this room is black.  It is on the other side of the room and we LOVE it!  It will be revealed soon!

This half of the room is complete, aside from one more piece of art that might get added that I'm still chewing on.  There's two outstanding projects for the other side of the room.....a mirror that needs a fresh coat of paint and we are going to create some sort of hook board for hanging coats.  Hoping to get this all done this week.  Stay tuned!

Thanks for visiting..........have a great Monday!

almost ~

Just popping in for a quick minute!  We have been busy working on our laundry / mud room transformation.  The walls are painted in light grey called Nimbus Cloud (Martha Stewart at Home Depot).  We have no windows in the space and get ZERO natural light, so this light grey really seems to help lighten the space.  We also completed the bench!

I gave it three coats of primer to cover up that original black finish and then 2 coats of nice bright white paint.  I was unable to locate the perfect grey and white quatrefoil fabric, so I opted for black and white, which I lucked out and found at Hobby Lobby and was able to use my 40% off coupon.

Here is the ugly BEFORE:

Woo Wee baby, that is baaaaaaad!  Almost surprised I purchased it looking that that!

Today we are focused on hanging these:

Lack series floating shelves from IKEA.  We have three....not sure if we'll be using all three or not.  Planning to hang them in a staggered fashion above our washer and dryer to create an elongated look to that wall.  Nervous about this........I hope it turns out as I'm seeing it in my head!!

Well, that's all for now!  Going to get back to work!
