I don't think I've ever done a blog post of my kitchen before so here we go on a little tour!
This first photo is taken from my dining room....

Not sure if you can see it very well, but that Paris Market sign hanging in the middle of the windows is my latest find at Primitive Blessings Vintage Gift Shop located in Orient, Ohio. Just love Pam's shop and the treasures I find there!
I placed an old dresser at the end of the island for additional storage and in the hopes that the cream paint would break up all that dark cherry wood! I have been begging my husband to let me paint the island to lighten things up in here, but as of yet, he still holds firm and emphatic on NO. What do you think he would do if he came home one day and the island was painted?!?!?!
Here is my old shoe cart filled with ironstone and our new refrigerator. My old fridge broke on Christmas morning....yep! Thank goodness we had an old beater fridge in the garage to move everything to so we didn't lose any of our leftovers or Christmas food. We really struggled with buying a new fridge. First off, they are sooooo expensive. I had no idea! Plus, there are so many options. Then, once we finally made a decision on one, it turns out, it was discontinued! It took us over 2 weeks to make a decision. I did not enjoy going to the cold garage every time I needed something out of the fridge!
This house does not have a pantry, so I use that tall section of cupboards over there as my pantry.
Aside from the new refrigerator, we have made no changes to this kitchen. The lighting, countertops, cupboards and remaining appliances are all original to the house. I have tried to give it a touch of our personal style by accessorizing with french farmhouse things.
until next time,
~ keep dreaming ~

Looking good Polly! I have a similar wooden shoe rack in my laundry room. I've been toying withthe idea of moving ii into the kitchen to fill with white ironstone. Yours looks great:-)

Your kitchen is amazing Polly. So nice and big and I can see your wonderful personal touch everywhere! Men can be so stubborn about painting wood ~ not sure what that's all about!!
I'll take the dresser and the rug please. Just fabulous!
Polly your kitchen is beautiful! I love the dresser in there like that and I am still in love with your shoe rack! :)

I really love your kitchen! That dresser is really cute, as is the shelving you have against the wall! :)
I love it Polly!
I just found a few of those old shoe racks and wish my kitchen (or any room) was big enough to fit it in!
I say paint the island...just have it topped with all his favorites to lighten the blow when he comes home!
Great idea to put the dresser in there - certainly lightens things up!
Your kitchen rocks Polly! And as much as I'm always begging Henri to paint over wood I don't like, I'm really digging your island the way it is. I think the white dresser is just enough to set the whole thing off. I would get excited about a new ss fridge too..love how yours is recessed and the very cool sign that hangs above it. xo ~Lili
