Hello! Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving with your loved ones! It's hard to believe the holidays of 2011 are upon us already, isn't it?
We had a quiet little holiday here at home and then off to visit with family later in the afternoon. I did a simple Thanksgiving table and thought I would share some photos.
This is a picture of the table prior to the dishes being added.
The velvet pumpkins are from Urban Farmhouse.
The creamy white pine cone stems are from Michael's 75% off bins!
I just added my turkey dishes and the Give Thanks napkins I made a couple weeks ago.
simple but pretty
So, I do have a cooking question that I thought I would put out there for comments and suggestions. In an effort to keep our Thanksgiving dinner as healthy as possible, I used zero added salt, unsalted broth, light butter, and all low sodium ingredients. Unfortunately, this meant things were not as tasty........at least they didn't taste like what mom and grandma used to make! Do any of you have suggestions on how you keep your stuffing and noodles tasting good without the extra sodium and fat? I would appreciate any advice!
Have a great weekend, wherever you are!
~ keep dreaming ~

simple but pretty is right! and as for cooking healthy around the holidays... i have no advice! i think i used 2 pounds of butter yesterday! ;)
What a gorgeous table setting! I love the velven pumpkins!
The only thing I can think of for your salt issue is to use herbs and spices to make them more tasty. But I really don't know enough about them to know which would herbs or spices pair nicely with certain dishes, and even then this will not give them the flavor that salt would.
Wowwww it looks beautiful.......like your pumpkins !!...xxx..
I love simple for Thanksgiving - yours is simple and pretty! I am a bad one to ask that cooking question - at the holidays I use the whole milk in my pudding and lots of butter in anything it goes into - we use spicy sausage in our stuffing - very flavorful!
Your table is so sweet and pretty Polly! Such pretty dishes. Hope you have a wonderful weekend too!
Beautiful table! I love the simplicity of it!
Pretty, pretty! Those pumpkins are gorgeous!
I don't even try to make anything healthy on Thanksgiving. Except for the salad. But then you add dressing and there goes the healthy.
What a pretty table you set Polly!
Loving those pumpkins!
Cooking tip...none here...I used a few pounds of butter here too!
So simple, yet so beautiful.
It is absolutely *perfect*, Polly!
Oh, and I LOVE your new master bedroom reveal, too. You are so darn gifted!
XOXO,
Anne
Wonderful table setup! Lovely centerpiece! Have a fabulous weekend, Kellie xx
using herbs and spices will work, also using salt substitutes and butter flavoring (yes, that is a real item). still keeping my eye on the curb trash :) i think im still a little sick about that desk i passed up :( i had decided if it was still there that night i was going to load it up for you and take it home until you had time to deal with it next year :)
