french seed packet labels ~

A few weeks ago I was surfing Etsy and came across a shop in
Burgundy, France called simplyfrenchvintage.

Within this wonderful shop filled with an abundance of items straight from France,
I came across an assortment of original vintage french seed packet labels.
The bundle I chose contained both flowers and vegetables.

They arrived in the mail yesterday, and I was instantly smitten.
and inspired.

The doldrums of winter have me craving some pops of sweet color here and there.
I bought a bag of green apples last week to liven up the kitchen.
With that in mind, I pulled a few of the green veggies to place inside some frames I already had on hand...

I also had this much  larger frame.
I used an old love letter written in 1898 to "Nell" as the background
and simply placed the lettuce seed label on top.  Love the layered effect I ended up with.
This one is hanging in a kitchen vignette that I'll show you in another post, but here
are a couple up-close shots of it!

The smaller ones ended up as part of a wall collage in my kitchen combined
with a couple old ironstone pieces and a chippy salvaged grate and door hardware....

Cauliflower was so cute I hung it under the cabinet I'm in and out of a million times a day...

Gosh, is it totally crazy that something so little can make me so giddy?

They have added such a freshness to my kitchen!
I also started forcing some paperwhite bulbs a couple weeks ago and they
are sprouting like weeds.  A few sprinkles of lively vitality to brighten my day as I walk by!
Just what I needed to get through the winter blues!

I love the idea of using the letter. I love all the prints.
What is it about winter blues. I love winter but have them as well.

And we have even had more sunshine than usual. Hopefully they will disappear soon.

Too cute! I love when the seed catalogs start arriving in the mail in February. Even though I am not a gardener (in my dreams I am) they make my heart pitter patter for spring. So I can totally relate to your seed packet affinity!

Have a great night!
