I've never done a post touring my master bedroom.
There's a very specific reason for that...
It's because I have a vision in my head. It's been swirling around
my head for a long while now.
This vision includes dove gray walls.
And the current furniture painted creamy white.
And ruffly bed linens by Judy Hill.
And a chandi dripping with crystals.
And a pair of french (heck, french-inspired is fine with me) chairs for the sitting area.
The vision is very clear.....in my head.
But Mr. Sassafras doesn't really have the same vision.
Nope, he has no interest in painting walls.
or furniture.
or buying new furniture.
or chandeliers.
So, since this makeover will likely not happen anytime soon, I invite you
to tour the room as is.....with a few pink springy touches added here and there.
My mom made these bolster pillows probably ten years ago, when she still could sew.
She could make anything on her antique sewing machine that belonged to her grandma.
If I had an idea in mind and brought her the fabric, she would whip it up in no time.
The bolsters are made of vintage floral sheets, which I have a pretty sizable collection of.
We used double faced satin fabric to tie the ends.
One of my goals for 2010 is to learn to sew....just like my mom.
Cupid awake...
and Cupid asleep flank each side of the bed...
So, there you have it.
Our bedroom in all its dark wood, sage green wall glory!
It is definitely the next room on the never-ending project list.
And that's ok.
Because this girl needs projects.
Projects complete me.
~ until next time ~

P.S. Thanks for the well-wishes! I did stay home most of the day. It appears that this weird bug has decided to mutate into a full-fledged head cold which is manageable. You are all so sweet!

I hear you Polly! Your room looks fantastic as it is, but I know how it is, sometimes you are just ready to change things up. My bedroom walls are also sage green. Like the color but ready for a change, just biding my time:-)

Very pretty!
I think your bedroom is lovely and I like the way you have paid attention to detail. Once you decide what to do I think Mr. Sassafras will come around to your way of thinking.

Sorry to hear you have been under the weather. Thank you for taking the time to visit littlest room. Before I took the photos, I had to empty all the toys out, so yes the kids love the room.
Good luck with the room redecoration. And we girls definately always need a project. I think that's what keeps us out of trouble.
