white wednesday

tomorrow is my mom's birthday and these lovely old prints of George and Martha Washington are her gift...

they were an unexpected find at an auction......and are a perfect addition to my mom's collection of old presidential prints...

the detailing in the frames is exquisite....

i felt these gems deserved a special presentation, so I gathered up some supplies and began to create....

a burlap bag with Powell Jeans logo (not exactly the right look for a birthday gift bag!)
old sheet music
rhinestone pin
beautiful double faced satin ribbon
millinery flowers
old wooden game letters

and voila! the finished product....

wishing my mom a happy birthday tomorrow....

by the way....my mom asked for a new toilet seat for her birthday!!! do you think she'll be disappointed?

til next time....

p.s. don't' forget to swing by Faded Charm to visit all the White Wednesday posts....you can find Faded Charm on my blog list.

I am so glad I take all day and into the night to look at everybodies blog listed. Some of the best ones are at the bottom.

Matha and George Washington in those beautiful frames are the perfect gift. Let someone else get her the toilet and she can decorate her bathroom around Martha and George.

I'm so glad I saw your post.

Polly, those prints are gorgeous, and the frames...perfect. She will love these! Tell her the toilet seat will be for Christmas.

What a thoughtful gift. I would be happy with just the bag even before I opened it. Thanks for sharing and I hope your Mom has a wonderful birthday.

Take care,

Kathleen

Polly, somehow I think she will forget all about that toilet seat she asked for. The presentation alone would be gift enough for me. What a great daughter you are. (If she is upset over the toilet seat or lack of, and disowns you, I am up for adopting you)
Hugs,
June

That turned out fantastic!!

I'm sure your Mom will love it, and maybe someone else would get her a toilet seat.

(that's on my birthday list too.) =0)

Blessings,
