Lovely shades of lavender and green

My goods are located at The Olde Shoe Factory Antique Mall, where I also work part time. Not only do I work the front counter, I assist the owners with various displays throughout the 60,000 square foot historic building. It is so much fun! My dear friend who also owns the antique mall and I make a great team....we complement each other so well when we are pulling a look together. For example, I'm all about color coordination and unique design while she is incredibly creative and adventurous! Since she owns the place, she's not afraid to use nails, hang things from the ceiling, or try just about anything. Yesterday, we spent a couple hours together and created this fresh and vibrant display.....

Our inspiration began with the two massive corner cupboards with the cool green shelves. The cupboards sat there empty for a few days while we mulled ideas over in our heads. I kept thinking purple would look great against that green. So, we decided to give it a whirl.

She came up with the idea to use vintage aprons and pillowcases as chaircovers! So sweet! We found a couple vintage Anchor Hocking plates that were the perfect shade of green to set this cute little crackly drop leaf table.

Look at these shelves! Each shelf is cut in this intricate pattern. These sweet little plates fit right in!

Beautiful crystal prism lamps, pale green Fenton glass toothpicks, an old ironstone bowl, a milk glass compote, and some purple flowers finish off the sideboard. Originally, we thought about using a painted white buffet, but ended up liking the juxtaposition of this more elegant dark wood piece combined with the crackly table and painted cupboards.

We have done quite a few displays over time, but this one really felt good when we were finished. I think we were both a little giddy! After a long, cold winter, it was nice to create a look that is so fresh and vibrant. If you have a free minute, let me know what you think! As always, thanks for stopping by my blog!
